LMK Thermosafe has for a long time offered digital options for their insulated heating jackets. However, in consideration of its reputation for quality and the longevity of its products, only relatively expensive controllers have been offered. This is because most digital controllers offered with insulated heating jackets are not designed for the heat stresses involved and have a tendency to fail prematurely.

After years of working with their controller suppliers they have now combined a good quality but cost-effective digital controller in their own custom-made ABS housing that meets the standards and longevity that their traditional capillary is renowned for. There are still constraints, so the watts density of the High-Power specification and IBC3 still means that the digital controller will not be offered on these heaters.

The new digital controller features a simple push-button temperature setting function and displays both the current temperature and when the heating circuit is active. Additional functions, such as timer and soaking options, will be available for custom-made jackets only. The electrical circuit maintains an industry-leading IP54 ingress protection rating, allowing the jackets to be used in wet factory areas or outdoors under cover.

SBH Solutions will offer the 200 litre HHD-DIGI drum heating jacket and the IBC1-DIGI heating jacket as stock digital options this season. Other sizes will be available to order from the factory.

Capillary thermostat heater jackets will remain the main focus, but for customers in need of precise knowledge of the temperature they may find this additional cost now within their reach. The touch screen digital controls of the HHD-PRO DIGITAL and IBC1-PRO DIGITAL will become made-to-order options once existing stocks have been exhausted.
